How much do you share IRL?

Do some of you find that damn mask hard to keep on? Or maybe you have a confidant?

What do you mean by mask?

I know it's a bit pedant but a mask of normalcy. For instance in my experience I have to fake feelings all the time otherwise people would find me weird or I'd make them uncomfortable, hence the term mask.

The mask isn't hard to keep on. Well, until someone pisses me off anyway. I just find it annoying at times, fake smiling and pretending to care just to blend in when I'd rather just tell people to fuck off.

That's why I like socializing online. I don't have to wear a mask here. I can be myself and say what I really think. You can't do that off the net, unless you're with someone who can relate to you.

I do wish I had a confidant sometimes. Someone I can talk about my darkest desires with, and other certain things that I can't openly share with anybody else.

I feel isolated from society sometimes, an outcast. It does get very lonely at times.

At this point it's just a basic expectation of casual social interaction. No different from putting on makeup.

there is no such thing as faking an emotion unless you're an actor you probably just don't understand your own emotion

you can active emotions with enough practice... that's not fake

But that is exactly what it is: acting.

Let me give you an example: let's say that in the news there's a child abduction and subsequent murder.

Generally what happens is this: my family and friends talk about that topic, they go on and on about how sad and disgusting an act it was and invariably I have to pretend to be sad with them because if I don't, they'll notice that something is off with me.

The matter of fact is that I don't care at all about what happened to that child. I don't understand how you can be sad for something that happened to someone you don't know. And even if I knew the person I would not care much about what happened to them.

This is also why I know you're not a sociopath, dex. If you were, you would know all about faking emotion, but you're too socially retarded to even understand that shit.

There are social situations where I'm not feeling any emotion at all, but I'm expected to display some type of emotion in order to blend in, so I fake it, just like actors do.

Method Acting?

The emotions may not be fake, but they're false.
