What Heroes and Psychopaths Have In Common

Here is a video that I thought was quite interesting. I'm curious to see what discussion might develop from this. So, share your thoughts.

A general question to everyone:

Have you ever done anything that would be considered heroic? If yes, can you tell us what you did.

Sociopaths do make great heroes if they have the inclination to do so. The lack of empathy and emotion allows for clear, logical thinking in a time a stress where normal people would put their emotions first

i saved a cat from a tree when i was 7 then i strangled it and told my mom it fell and broke its neck. she then said "but cats land on four legs" then i said in a sobby voice "but this one didn't". she then took me out for ice cream to ease my pain.

lol. The worst I did around that age to an animal was tie a cat to a pole, but my story is not half as interesting. Actually, I was a bit older than 7. I think I was about 9 or 10.

But that's not an heroic story anyway.

I once revived an old ladies goldfish and had it adopted, to keep it out of the clutches of the said coffin dodgers autistic grandson.

But tell the rest of the story, please. It's my favorite. When you then used it as an altar for your ritualistic killings. You had to have killed at least 728 people there, in front of that cat. Such a good tale. Thank you for sharing.

What incentive would they have to save people's lives fearlessly? And what  would they get out of it? If they died in the -process?

I don't  think that's heroic per se but I once managed to talk a thug out of harming a friend of mine.

And when I say a friend of mine I mean my boyfriend at the time.

Long story short the thug was under the impression that my bf was eyeballing him which I knew couldn't be true given the fact that he was very ugly. Add alcohol to the mix (since the scene was taking place in a bar) and my bf's being young, hot-headed and looking for trouble and I still managed to convince the thug that it wouldn't be in his interest to try to fight us.

As for a link between sociopaths and heroes idk I tend to identify more with villains in movies anyway. (i.e I so wanted the dark side of the force to win in Star Wars which it kind of did in Revenge of the Sith).

Your tale seems so much more interesting than the truth. I'll stick with that.
