I think everyone, even people with mental disorders can be Patriotic and enjoy the Freedom our soliders have fought
and died for. I know I do. When we were attacked on 911. I remember sitting on the couch watching it unfold. They didnt
just attack our nation that day, they attacked me. I know some of you dont give a fuck. But remember if it wasn't for our
soliders fighting and dying. You wouldn't even be reading this.
"Stand up for what you believe in, know matter what it is"
Yeah but not everybody is from the US so the term 'patriotic' is very relative.
That said I recognize that soldiers have balls, that we need them to defend our freedoms (see you've got a pro-army liberal right there).
I also thought long and hard about becoming one (or a cop) when I was in my early twenties because it can be such a great outlet for some kind of pulsions; I mean basically you're paid to kill people and blow up stuff, that's awesome. I know there's way more to it than that but that's the gist of it.
As for 911 I also remember watching it unfold live on TV and my reaction was one of fascination. I had never seen such a level of destruction and chaos in real life and I couldn't believe the audacity of the attack. I also had to keep reminding me to 'play the part' and look sad even though it didn't affect me that much on an emotional level.
That said I do think terrorists are fucking cowards and that they fully deserve it when we go medieval on their asses but of course we're only creating new terrorists by doing that.
I honestly just think "better them than me" when it comes to the military, but I'm quite selfish.
As a kid watching the 9/11 attacks, everyone's eyes where I was were glued to the screen except mine. I was just figuring it was a plot from our own government to garner PR and a means to push a war many people didn't originally want, and that caring about it would just serve to wrap me into their game.
There are people who still believe that to this day. That our goverment had something to do with it. I can't rule it out that they didn't have something to do with it. I never even suspected that our goverment might of had something to do with it, at the time.
What pissed me off the most, was the cowardly way they went about it. I hate cowards like that. Now if they would have attacked us heads up on the ground sure it would have been suicide for them, but they would have died like men fighting for something they believe in

Im not sure about all men, but I think most of us have a built in defence mechanism. When we feel threatend we go into attack mode. Kinda like when someone is fucking with your girl at the bar. In my eyes its just like he is calling me a pussy and saying what are you going to do about it. Thats how I take that stuff. I felt the same way when they attacked us.
I didnt care or even think about the people who might have died during the attack. I remember wanting to go outside and find someone to fuck up.
