I was impressed with how you ended the debate. Most of the other members lack the ability to end a discussion on a positive note.

What you did showed character.

Character isn't something people are born with, it is something that is developed over time.

I think that is what most people in this forum are lacking. They are probably to young and havent experienced enough in life to give a

educated answer. Or they have been cooped up indoors for to long and havent received the people skills that they need.

I would argue this forum has plenty of character. Perhaps a bit too much. Many people come here because it allows them to break outside of the confined status quo of socially accepted behavior.

It is more often than not a forum for people to explore sides of themselves that they would otherwise need to suppress and in many cases, and in many cases substitute their true selves for the character they've created here (one of the reasons people create puppets) a method of reinventing themselves to try out new persona's.

It's a dangerous thing to be genuine in the shark tank. It's much preferred to be on the attack at least that's the culture that is often bread here. There is a premium on exploiting perceived weakness infact it is often a game played to see who can break or expose the other here. A constant mind game of chess where the victor is the one who out trolls, argues, or exploits the other. A micro-training ground for manipulative and exploitative behavior. Not that there's anything wrong with that... This is a sociopath forum after all.

As for them being cooped up indoors... Between texting, facebook, and twitter Online is now the predominant means of socialization in our culture and it's predominance continues to grow every year.

But not to disregard your point, I understand what you're saying, with experience comes the ability to recognize and understand the patterns of human behavior. The observant are keen to note the subtle cues that underlie behavior. It is in this nuance that perception goes beyond what is meant to be observed, into what is. That nature of which is often unseen even by the perpetrator of an observable act. To a place where only the highest functioning can perceive the cause behind the act. The truth behind the words, and the reason in illogic.

Because of when I grew up. I am still trying to rationalize the ever so changing culture. I guess I am still oldschool in that sense, but I am trying to keep a open mind to the changes we are going threw.

I like what you said about my theroy of being cooped up indoors. I never looked at it in that way. I really hope we are not going down the same road Rome went threw before there demise.

Rome became so powerfull that they killed themselfs from within. That is what I fear is our future.

Everything that is born will die and something else will replace it. To include empires.

As to how we will destroy ourselves... well we have plenty WMD's to ensure that. But I think there would be more poetry in having our world wiped out by an EMP... With our reliance on technology and as we continue to advance into a world more and more reliant on electronics to function in society. I think that's how our story should reach it's peak. Wipe the slate clean, send us  back into the dark ages.

Just think of how few people can read a map now, think of how few people know how to hunt, clean, and cook their own food. In a few more generations what else will the electronic age erase from our list of needs? And what happens when we can no longer function without those electronic? And what happens when they all suddenly stop working... That is what I fear is our future, that's how I see our era ending.

When I look back at how life has benifited from mass extinction's, and how life has bounced back, stronger and more resilient.

I think for us to recover and learn from our mistakes, we would have to go threw another extinction. or like you said wipe the slate clean.

I don't think we would have too... But I think it would make the story much more interesting. Life without struggle is boring.

Whoa, this topic is totally out of place.

I'm truly flattered, that someone might enjoy my semi intelligible and quasi knowledgeable ramblings, my intoxicant induced dubious rhyming and my questionably impressive wording, but aren't we here to spank each other with a big whooping paddle.

Come on, where is your devilishly delivered spirit?

Oh, crap. I'm so moved, I'm gonna have a beer and think nice thoughts about everyone I ever insulted on this site.

Damn you all to the utter depths of the feces spangled hell.

Now, where is that damn beer refrigerator I keep chained to my ankle?

Ah yes, of course...
