As an intuitive person, I enjoy reading literature of all sorts. I specifically delight in coming across passages that pertain to my life or influence a new angle to examine.

Post literature or quotes you find enlightening, interesting, or relatable.

Two particular quotes that I am fond of:

"We are faced with a dilemma: we crave human interaction, but yet destroy it. Like a black hole requiring more matter, yet obliterating and consuming it instead."- Found this in a comment on ME's blog.

"I stand in awe of my body, this matter to which I am bound has become so strange to me. I fear not spirits, ghosts, of which I am one, — that my body might, — but I fear bodies, I tremble to meet them. What is this Titan that has possession of me? Talk of mysteries! — Think of our life in nature, — daily to be shown matter, to come in contact with it, — rocks, trees, wind on our cheeks! The solid earth! the actual world! the common sense! Contact! Contact! Who are we? where are we?" -Thoreau

This Thoreau sounds as if it were a demon trapped into a human body and experiencing a new world. I like it

I like reading books relating to generals and conquests, Its my ancestral conquistador blood hahahaha. I will share some later, I haven't read a book in a few months. I know roughly the chapters I would favor

Yes he was very introspective, which I appreciate because I believe in mind over matter.

This is an entire paragraph from the art of war by sun tzu, if you have already read the book then you are probably aware of it. This is not a paragraph I am sharing because I feel that every single person can take something away from it, but because I enjoy dissecting every sentence and have applied everything in some way or another before I even had this book. I find it interesting and I see the value in the words, If you enjoy it as well cheers.

Both paragraphs are one broken apart to make the reading easier. It is the second part I like most and it can all of it be translated into never settling for a half-measure and striving for the best possible solution when it is possible.

I engaged in strategies before I even knew the word for them, I am fascinated when I read the words of people long dead and know they have thought the way I do, Before I existed.

"Preserving the Enemy's state capital is best. Destroying their state capital second-best. Preserving their army is best. Destroying their army second-best. Preserving their battalions is best, destroying their battalions second-best. Preserving their companies is best, destroying their companies is second-best. Preserving their squads is best, detroying their squads second-best. "

slight break to account for long paragraph

"For this reason attaining one hundred victories in one hundred battles is not the pinnacle of excellence. Subjugating the enemy's army without fighting is the true pinnacle of excellence.

While being paralyzed for just short of a year, Bruce Lee continued his martial arts training mentally. During these 9 months he described life as he interpreted it and used a meditative thought process to reinforce his will through philosophy. I'm currently in the middle of his philosophical notes.

Hmm while Ive never seen much benefit through following the principles taught in martial arts and meditation, I am a little interested in his thought processes. why don't you post some quotes you've found interesting?

I don't know exactly what Ayn Rand has to do with the quotes that I posted, and I've never heard of her before now, but I looked her up and her philosophies are quite interesting, thanks for mentioning her.

“You must be shapeless, formless, like water. When you pour water in a cup, it becomes the cup. When you pour water in a bottle, it becomes the bottle. When you pour water in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Water can drip and it can crash. Become like water my friend.”

"To hell with current circumstances,  one must create opportunities."

"The possession of anything begins in the mind."

"All knowledge eventually leads back to self knowledge."
