No, HPD does not explain your problems.
"Turncoat, Histrionics fake emotions..."
I'm pretty sure from how the symptoms are laid out they over-express them and change them quickly. They appear quite sensitive. It can give the impression of appearing as shallow emotions since they change so rapidly.
o Being easily influenced by other people
o Being overly dramatic and emotional
o Being overly sensitive to criticism or disapproval
o Believing that relationships are more intimate than they actually are
o Blaming failure or disappointment on others
o Constantly seeking reassurance or approval
o Having a low tolerance for frustration or delayed gratification
o Quickly changing emotions, which may seem shallow to others
Sounds rather emotional to me.
@Dex, as for the ability to be wrong:
1) It happens, and I recognize it (an ability you lack). I even pointed out that it lists it as a possible comorbidity, but I'm left questioning it (you even quoted that part). Considering Psych is a speculative science full of holes anyway, it's funny that you'd act like it's gospel.
2) Wow, quoting the same post twice like some sort of petty victory dance. You poor thing. You must really need that extra self-pat on the back.
According to the info Turncoat posted, they don't fake emotion.
For example, this:
o Quickly changing emotions, which may seem shallow to others
tells us that they don't fake emotion at all. It just seems that way to everybody else.
Also, these in particular:
o Being overly dramatic and emotional
o Being overly sensitive to criticism or disapproval
Tell us that they do experience a lot of real emotions.
