Instead of Community I think the forum should be called The Pit...because what happens in this forum no body wants to see...
haha, the thing is that we would like to put a lot of time into this forum to make it really awesome, and then we would like to include it on our portfolio.. somehow i don't think potential clients would be pleased to know it's called "the pitt" hehe.
community is really neutral, and the clients who stop by ususally don't pay so much attention, so they see a nice, active forum, and they are happy.
also it's good for surfers of this forum who come by from work. i think "community" will raise quite a bit less questions! same goes for if parents are peering over your shoulder like mine :D
about the spider, i don't like it, so you can count on it being removed. in fact, the entire forum will be getting a reskin.. we have it already done, but since uploading it would take 10-30 minutes, and we know how you guys dislike downtime, we are going to go ahead and add the search feature in the update
so it might take a couple days, but ya.. reskin, and amazing new search feature which i know you all must be dieng for lol

What'll it be replaced with? I can't really imagine what sort of tiny icon would really fit this sort of social scene while keeping it portfolio friendly.
Edit:
Although I guess you could just use the icon used by the site for Tweets, albeit with a small size tweak and some background transparency (especially if you plan on allowing users to control the skin color themselves):

What sort of look are you talking about? Do you have a sample? Do you plan to make it match the Sociopath World site's colors? The black does look a little funny on there (even though it looks just fine if the forum frame is seen alone).

Better hope they don't read the topic titles or click around.
