Do you think that when a squirrel climbs a tree it views itself as climbing, or do you think that it sees itself as going forward on a horizontal plane of a different axis?

I'm actually stoned right now, so I'll take this on. I think the squirrel wants to be going horizontal BUT it can feel the gravitational pull of the climb so it's like all fucked up with every step it takes but it doesn't know why. That's why the little fuckers are so sketchy and stressed out. They're fucked up. They don't know which way is up.
Granted the critter does have spatial intelligence and a sense of gravity. It'll view itself climbing up on a vertical axis when it's doing so.
That's just a guess though. Those things have incredible climbing abilities and can run up down and sideways on a tree stump, so I could be wrong.
