Does the mear fact of coming here and reading "the book" confirm sociopathy?

I listened to the author speak on the CBC and then I bought her book. I have not read a lot of it but am reading it.

Considering what I have read I must confess, I am not a sociopath. BUT, with some practice, I could be. My 60 something brother is

and always has been some brand.. My dad picked that out decades ago. Me? I lived in my brothers shadow as I am 4 years younger and

he and me are the only males along with 2 sisters. Trying to describe what he was and still is exceeds  explanation. Single handedly he created a total embarrassment for the family a good part of our lives.

G'day sir :)

- What did your father pick out about your brother, exactly, years ago?

- You lived in your brothers shadow? Nothing special about that is there? Most younger siblings do. Would you care to elaborate?

- Embarrassment? Would you care to share some examples of your brothers anti social behaviour?

Many thanks,

SAS

Ps, "I'm not a sociopath but could be with some practice?" Sociopathy isnt the same as lawn bowls, I'm afraid.

Of course, reading a book and joining a forum doesn't make you an SP. All of us, esp. in our colder moments, can relate to some parts of sociopathy and people range on the empathy scale generally so…  Very few people are diagnosable SPs. This, along with any personality disorder, is considered an extreme mental health problem.

There are lots of assholes in the world though. Take for example the "Secret Agent Smiley" - he's asked you a bunch of questions so he can use it against and run you outta here.  Sneaky bugger. Beware :$  He's a lonely loser.

Of course.  I read skydiving books which made me an expert.  I read kama sutra which made me a sexpert.  I read M.E.s book which made me a sociopathic wheelchair riding nympho...makes sense, right?

You in a wheelchair? That's hot. Where do you live?
