I can't help wondering why so many psychopaths are murderers and they say it's because they don't have a conscience or empathy. I don't have a conscience and I have no desire to kill for pleasure. People seem to think the only thing that stops us from all killing each other is the conscience. That reminds me of when people thought the only thing that kept us from killing each other was religion. But many people are now atheists and are just as "nice" and law-abiding as religious folk. Isn't a conscience just some sort of internalized rule-making Deity?

Not all psychopaths are the same. It's not a label that has a one-size-fits-all tag attached.
While there are the core traits that define psychopaths in general, there may also be other co-existing factors that are affecting one's personality, which is contributing to their behavior. It's those little nuances that make us all individuals.
