Hiding in plain sight

Would you say you hide your true identity at all times? Or do you confide in someone outside the anonymous internet sites?

If you share, or show your darker side: How do people react when you show your darker identity? Have you met someone who stayed after you showed that part of yourself?

If you don't share it or show it: How do you keep it intact? Don't you ever want to share it with someone? Would you like to find someone to share common ground with? If so, why don't you?

I've never shared my true intentions with anyone. I keep it secret, for what reason do they need to know?

I don't share my darker side with anyone off the net because the wrong reaction could create a few problems for me and make blending into society a lot harder.

Showing my darker side online has been bad enough - Some people perceive me as a threat (though, they'll never admit it) and have indicated that they would like to hurt / kill me. Others have threatened to report me to the police and one person even threatened to report me to the FBI. And all of that from just sharing a desire to commit murder...

Most others just think I'm full of shit or trying to be some kind of badass, which I'm not. I have an unhealthy obsession with murder that could become very self-destructive if I were to let my homicidal urges control my life, instead of me controlling them.

I conceal my true motivations, but teach them the means to see it for themselves. By the time they recognize how I work, they usually think a little more like I do.

It works on those who are susceptible to it by their very own nature and seek a path to their own fulfillment, or those who are susceptible to it as a means of escaping their unfulfilled life's.

Either way they learn something and loose something in return.

Human husbandry necessitates the maintenance of sentinels, as well as the welfare of the general subjects of the husbandry.

Most people's identities are pretty complex, to the point where most don't understand themselves. I don't hide my identity but I decide what parts I share with others (just like I'm sure they do with me).

Darker side? Aspects come out occasionally, but I don't wish to share the depths of it with anyone per se. A lot of women like trouble so they will stay anyways. lol

Now a days, rather than pull people down, I prefer to be lifted up.

Since I don't consider myself a sociopath, my answer maybe somewhat irrelevant but I do hide certain aspects of my personality, especially in work. I will use the potential clients terminology, mirror their body language, copy their tone and utilize my Superficial charm in order to get the sale. Most salesman do this anyway. I was asked out today by a new Thai client of mine for drinks on the weekend, so I must be doing something right. I politely declined her generous offer though.

But thinking about it, I often find that I do this outside of work too, that's of course, if I want something in particular from a certain person. But then again don't we all!? This isn't exclusive to psychopaths.

To answer your darker side question.

My dark side is darker than a brother from the hood after a course of sunbeds but I've been in a relationship for nearly 10 years. My good side, far outweighs the bad.
