Good morning folks,
I haven’t been on in a while…I hope you guys have been investing your time in other ventures as well instead of putting all your eggs in one basket with this one site. Recently I tired an app on my mobile called WNM, it’s a social app that lets you talk to people around the world in a text-like form, but you can all create your own bio, upload pics, etc. Don’t get me wrong though, I’m in no way am I speaking on behalf of this application. In fact…
Last night I finally gave it a shot, talking to individuals to see what they’re like, and I was not shocked from their mindless dribble (as I’ve endured it here for months)… however what I found amusing is the fact that I was blocked by a user within 30 minutes of having a conversation him. I wasn’t being rude/nasty/vulgar I was simply asking him questions…let me give you a quick rundown of this Know It All.
His age wasn’t included in his profile however according to the application you have to be at least of 16 years of age. According to his account information he claimed to be an Accounting Executive (modest title), his current location was Las Vegas, NV which I find to be truthful given that the app uses your mobiles GPS location so lying would be futile. The pictures he listed consisted of random internet ‘memes’ with sayings like “Fuck You, if you feel this is for you, it probably is†and pictures like Tweety Bird not caring about what people ‘think’, whatever that means. His profile picture was of him in a darkened room with his palm brushed against his forehead in annoyance. A couple other doodles about life and being gay gave me all the ammo I would need to figure him out including profile name, misc. profile information, and previous posts. Assessing information on this individual was a cake walk, kids’ stuff really.
Now, how did I get blocked by this person you ask? Well it started with a post he put out for the world to see, this post went something like this “ I will no longer listen to the lies of god, that’s not who I am. U will no longer control me, that’s not who III am†This post struck an interest with me because after looking at his profile and assessing him I want to see if he even knew who he was. So I replied in kind, and it went something like this:
“Who are you then?†–Me
“Your Worst nightmare†Him
“You know nothing of nightmares. Judging from your profile you don’t know much at all, you’re just some confused adolescent. You couldn’t give me nightmares if your life depended on it†–Me
“The hell. Clearly you cant take a joke†–Him
“How boring, you didn’t even put up a fight..†–Me
“I sorry I don’t fight with idiots†–Him
“There you go again talking about things you don’t even understand. Tell me, how does it feel not knowing who you are?†–Me
“Block†– Him
It’s just a little sad because if I had a few back and forth’s I probably could have convinced him that his life is meaningless, since he doesn’t know what he wants…I could have used that to suggest that most people have their shit together at his age and since he hasn’t hit that ceiling he probably was going to feel like that for the rest of his life. People like him are a waste of oxygen, I’m simply doing a public service. What do you guys think? I should have been more subtle huh? Played the devil’s advocate, making grammatical errors like him and convince him that I’m like him and enviably push him to the brink of self-realization…weak minds…sigh.
That’s all.
Tom-
P.S. Luna, the chat looks better, still mindless dribble being shared from one user to another but at least it looks nice.
