What is the difference between Antisocial Personality disorder and Sociopathy? Is there a difference?

In my opinion, the difference between someone with AsPD and a sociopath is the amount of psychopathic traits they exhibit. You can have AsPD and only a few psychopathic traits, which would rule out psychopathy, but not AsPD. Where as a sociopath has AsPD and lots of psychopathic traits. They are essentially a psychopath that was made that way rather than born that way. At least, we can assume that much without a brain scan to prove otherwise anyway.

Are criminals people with ASPD?

In the dsm lv which is used here in the US there is no such thing as psychopathy only aspd. Some researchers claim they are separate disorders but for the major diagnostic manuals to have said they are the same then extensive research must have been conducted and analyzed. Psychopath has legal definitions that has nothing to do with medical just like the term in-fucking-sane.

Sociopaths are fuckups/go to prison.  Psychopaths get away w/ it. Socio is "dumb" psycho, or vice-versa.

Vast overgeneralization, but an easy, armchair way to illustrate differences, if you think about it.
