Maybe instead of fighting for jurisdiction over the oceans, countries should be competing to clean them up!

Not only are there massive garbage patches in the Pacific and Atlantic -- seas of plastic shards building up in the middle of the current patterns -- but areas between Japan and Hawaii are completed filled like junkyards of trash that also have hazardous materials mixed in. Of course, the indigenous species are dying in these areas.

China got criticized after Chinese vessels damaged the coral reef, possibly causing irreversible damage.

Why not ask all these countries to clean up the old messes before creating any ones???
