Response to boredom

Empaths, I apologize, I know your response to boredom. Don't bother responding.

Everyone else:  How do you respond to general boredom?  Are you destructive to your sorroundings so that you can make an escape to a new place, do you fight it out, or do you just drop everything cold and move on?  Why do you choose the particular method that you do?

Thanks for the respones ahead of time.

are you implying that these are ways in which sociopaths like you respond to bordom? by destroying things so that you can escape? if that's true, than i believe you're parents didn't parent well, and this is likely why you are so confused about the world, not because you are a sociopath and awesome becasue you are the destroyer of things.

I find myself sticking to my guns and getting through it.  I partition my life into "phases" that I know I'll change at some point.  Patience is a virtue, right?

As I said on the other fourm, I'm atypical in that I find some value in societal norms -- they have been developed over centuries for some reason or another.  Unless I find them completely illogical, I usually stick to them.

I just want insight from others.

I don't get bored unless I'm forced to do work or chores I dislike. I always have new projects and if I don't feel like doing anything I can just turn on the inner movies. Also alcohol is nice. If I have nothing to do I can have some booze and play some guitar. It sounds like crap but it's quite enjoyable.

Luckily as a 75 % freelancer I can mostly set my own working hours. That helps a lot. I can pull an allnighter working and then sleep the next day.

However, if I had to go to work every day I would go crazy. Told what to do and when to do it. I don't work like that.

Luna,

For example, I had a phase of my life where I was into drugs.  Of course, I told myself "I'll be done with this in a few months and move on." Which was valid for me.

Another phase is college: I build relationships with people that are useful for me now, but will not be useful to me after college.  Engineers are good at mathematics, so I get help from them, but I will never work for an engineer.

The issue is that I get bored of these relationships that I create much faster than the time I spend in them.

are you implying that, despite these phases, you have an ultimate goal that you are working toward?

Jhawk is right for once, only boring people get bored,  so you must be pathetic and boring

Im an Empath and most other empaths I know have different ways of taking care of boredom. This further goes to show you have no real experience with people, Brandon.

I don't understand boredom. There is always something to do. I wouldn't necessarely agree that if you get bored you must be boring, but certainly people who don't enjoy their own company, get bored easily. They are the ones who depend too much on other individuals to provide their entertainment.
