Sociopathy and Aspergers

Is it possible for them to coexist if an Aspie has a genetic predisposition to sociopathy ? Can someone with Aspergers learn to be glib and charming or is it uncharacteristic for an Aspie to be socially inclined ? Can their intelligence make it possible for them to learn how to mimic ? Can an Aspie who feels others emotions and can't distinguish their own learn what its like in others minds and then have a unique understanding of human emotion ? Can you imagine the damage that could be done if you have that ability and later develop sociopathic traits ? Can Aspies see Spaths and play their games ? Do they do it for fun ? Or would that make them a flat out Socio instead of an Aspie ?

I can quite easily see SOME aspies meet up to a lot of items on Cleckley's list but I have a much harder time seeing them fitting into Hare's list of psychopathic behaviors. So it depends on what you mean by psychopathy/sociopathy.

Know that most high functioning aspies do not have alexithymia nor a lack of theory of mind.

To put it bluntly, all these labels are very iffy.

I've been diagnosed as a sub-clinical psychopath and having asperger's syndrome.

All I have to say on the subject is that the current level of knowledge regarding what constitutes these specific developmental delays is still very vague in the department of neurology and corresponding sciences, that try to explain the human condition.

I'm just a happy-go-lucky Jack of all arts (that's not to say that I'm not a master of some), who doesn't give a damn about what is not a point of interest to me  (that usually excludes the survival necessities), obsessing about what is of interest to me at a given time and simply trying to get along with other people by being charming, considerate, kind and tactful.

Cheers.

I 'm sure you could find any combination of traits in ppl, and anything is possible with people.

However I find that the people who are able to rise above their conditions tend to do better if they are forgiving and of good will.

The people ive met who were most effective in working around their issues and not being held back by their limitations

were kind and patient with themseves and did not think to use their ways to manipulate others. That was never their focus.

Work on your weaknesses using your strengths, so that you can truly deserve victory.

Know what and why people are willing to believe and use that to maintain a balance in all things.

Understand your intentions and the implications stemming from them.

Know what is the nature of life.

Do not allow reason to be overwhelmed by petty desires.

What exists, exists. What doesn't exist, doesn't. Thus what can not be changed, will not be changed.

There is great power in forgiveness.

Lying to yourself weakens you.

Only you can understand the truth in your own way.

I see what your saying about there already being similar characteristics. There's one sentence I wanted to comment on :

" I wouldn't want to be part of a real sociopath's game. It seems to go nowhere even nearly productive. Just a waste of time for their own diversion. "

The game is the best part ! It's like a breath of fresh air - the changing of the seasons every time you find someone new. I think it can be productive - always learning to dance with new partners. Have you not experienced this ?

 Senator to Venator:

O my deep dark dearest, I do adore your way with words. First your poetry and now this. Forgive me for wanting to dive into your depths and wrap myself in your wisdom.

Metaphorically Id like to hold you down and kiss you till you pass out . Breathless.

So

Tell me where you want me to place my lips. Metaphorically of course. This place is run rampant with middle schoolers acting half their age, so PG 13 please.
