And this forum requires talking to "ass hats" in their own language, while delivering punchlines that point to solutions, not just counteracting arguments but showing there is "no need to take sides" arguing in the bloody first place.

Where is the "point" of this pyramid except to point to where there is agreement, where conflicts no longer divide us?

We have won where we recognize where and why we disagree, and focus instead on where we agree that makes an effective difference in the world. And everyone wins that way. Nobody loses!

Point conceded.

Am I to be punished by a bathing experience now?

I disagree. I think it's the differences between us all that make for a more interesting place, and disagreements showcase those differences, be it in thought, in experience, in life setting, prior knowledge, appearance, anything. When two people disagree, it's the perfect chance to learn a new perspective, whereas if we only say things everyone agrees upon... nothing develops, nothing changes, nothing grows. A world where everyone agrees with one another is a stale world, a boring world.

Is winning really everything? Losing is a lesson, where winning just proves what you already knew. What's worth doing is learning to accept loss, not find excuses to ignore it.

Losing shows weakness.

When your view of the world is "only the strong survive", winning IS everything.

Winning is a sign of inner strength and power and the domination of your opponent.

I like to use the whole pyramid.  Start at the bottom to wear them down, then finish with the point.

For example:

"ad hominem attacks - also the loser's tool (as are puppets)"

You're completely retarded.

I bet you don't even have any experience with debating anyone.

It's arrogant to make your point without offering any detail to back it up.

Both of those things can be a useful tool in debate.

I once saw a squirrel defend itself through use of an attorney, and many times I've changed someone's behavior simply by calling them retarded.

It's fair to win by any means necessary, and as Voltaire said, you "must decide how to play the cards in order to win the game."

Therefore, it would be foolish to discard any tool that may benefit your argument simply because you think it's for losers.

"Losing shows weakness."

Weakness is only bad when someone succeeds at taking advantage of it. If you mitigate the value of winning, losing displays less weakness, and from the loss you can become stronger, or at least see the means required to get there.

"When your view of the world is "only the strong survive", winning IS everything."

It depends how you define strength. Strength doesn't only come from victories, strength comes from growth.

"Winning is a sign of inner strength and power and the domination of your opponent."

It's a matter of what they had to do to get there, and how the person responds to the outcome, not the outcome itself. A "It's about the journey, not the destination" sort of rehash. I'd rather be given the tools to become stronger than have a trophy that proclaims myself the strongest.

If, instead of a trophy (dust collector), winning meant a promotion or financial reward, it wouldn't matter how you got there as long as you win.

The objective is to win because winning is what reaps the rewards. How you got there only matters to those giving the reward.
