Have any of us ever taken a psychological or IQ test?
Before being diagnosed, I had to take several psychological tests when I saw a private psychologist. The diagnosis consisted of more than just taking a few tests though. He had to make an assessment based on our discussions as well. I had already been discussing my situation with him for several months prior to being tested on paper.
When applying for Disability Support (for mental health reasons), I also had to be interviewed and tested by government appointed psychologists. They gave me this long fucking test to fill out, which I'm certain was the MMPI or MMPI-2. I didn't pay much attention to the name of it at the time.
I have taken two official IQ tests, one being the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale. I have no idea how they can come up with a number after that because that is not an IQ test as they are normally viewed. It measures a lot of intelligences, spatial abilities, memory, vocabulary, even basic knowledge but also more classic stuff like logic.
I scored a bit below 140 (I don't like giving out exact numbers on here). It is actually pretty low for a bright person. :p One reason is there is math involved. Not a favorite. The woman testing me, because I just aced vocabulary, asked me things like what is 631+734? I know that stuff really is easy for some people. She sighed and said Lets go to the level below and I suggested start at the damn start. Single digits.
So yea, they actually add in a lot more than normal and I have no idea how it really compares to other IQ tests. But the other test result that was a classic one, I somehow was not allowed to know the result. But I realized the wordings they used were from the description of the scale itself which must have put me at 130 at the Stanford-Binet scale.
I have also taken a few other tests but more targeted. Like one that was meant to measure impulsiveness. You click the mouse as soon as you see a letter if it is not an X or something like that. Some odd crap from that that didn't make sense came out from that one like being hyper impulsive and also not driven by external stimuli. Eh. Say what?

That's a test I've never taken. I'd like to try a test like that if I can find one online. I know I can be pretty impulsive, but seeing a measure of my impulsivity would be interesting.
