Two people in the psychology field saw something similar but there was a one off so this other guy decided he wanted to rebrand it... people read way to much into this shit...

Histrionics love creating drama and have a tendency to throw a tantrum when not getting the attention they feel they deserve. Histrionics are more attention seeking than narcissists in my opinion.
Narcissists enjoy attention too, but they're not as dramatic as the histrionic. They're more manipulative, and can be calculating and methodical in their approach to others. Where as the histrionic just creates a big, dramatic scene.

In my view the narcissist is closer related to the sociopath, especially the very self aware narcissist who is more cognisant of the constant use of "me" and "I" and not as concerned with the criticism of others. The narcissist doesn't need people at all but he does need supply, whereas the sociopath does need people. I like the analogies of Blanche Dubois and Scarlett O'Hara for histrionic, that seems so accurate in terms of their entertaining and non manipulative qualities lacking in the other two. The histrionic is a much less dominating persona than then the other two, thus more likeable.
I was reading through everyone's responses quite quickly, I liked a few points made but I think I liked what you said about psychologists and others in the field always trying to box everyone into a very specific category.
So, I was replying with your thoughts in mind. Forgive me, I have ADD, ADHD and dyslexia, my thought process gets scrambled at times.
