If you're ok with this, I have a worse spoof on NIN that's even meaner. If we could do a series, and somehow market a website, would like to help families in recovery to set up business plans and microloans for education, jobs, housing.
Doesn't matter to me if it's recovery from addiction, crime, abuse, poverty or what. the same solutions work to replace welfare with a more sustainable system of investing and paying it back. by retarded I mean socially/spiritually.
BTW The author of Harry Potter started with nothing and wrote at coffeeshops in desperation, and now makes multi-millions. Anyone can develop talents. I think when you are really trying to help and uplift others, things come together right.

I just sampled the Fuck You song, and could see a spoof on me: "Shut the Fuck Up"
the plot can be that the therapist has the group of bored SP put together a musical. They can't stand each other, so they pick the nicest person to assist, who never says anything to piss anyone off. And this "pollyanna empath" helps them pull together, almost pulls it off. But by intermission, something goes wrong, it falls apart. the helper trying to fix it, makes it worse. They compete to slam each other in Act Two and refuse to work together. the helper keeps trying to resolve conflicts to put the pieces together, but is accused of messiah crap.
The Group turns against the one member who is truly trying to help, until they all unite against the pollyanna, and set aside their conflicts, as a team with a common enemy. They make a huge breakthru and the therapists celebrates with them. The Empath is traumatized for life and will need serious therapy to recovery, but cheered and hailed for the happy ending. Everyone is okay and accepts their FU flaws in the finale. While the empath is terrorized left with PTSD
BTW TK, I think Closer is the sexiest song ever written, most honest and raw.
I'm both sad and glad that it spoiled me for any other song of this genre.

I was planning a cartoon video where a white-gloved feminist stands up to read at a Ladies' Night Open Mic, turns into a thrashing metal headbanger screaming this.

Right! That works with your plot in the script. The group works together at first with the goal of a musical where everyone gets a scene, then turn on each other again. Just like your synopsis. It's only when they unite to turn against the empath trying to mediate they finally get it right. So it is a statement on real diversity management, and letting people be different, not making all the same.
PS in real life this is the biggest fear with people. they fear religions or parties, assuming it means to force one way on others to make them the same. I have trouble explaining that's the opposite, the point is to quit imposing this way! Some people are able to separate religion. With politics very few get it at all. They think parties should be used to bully and dominate. How long can that go on? why not separate as religious groups do, each taking care of their own?
Number one misconception. It's not that people need to change their views, convert from X to Y. What allows reconciliation is to forgive each other's differences and work with them to achieve the best effects and goals. Like tools in a toolbox. Let the saw be used as a saw, and a hammer as a hammer. Or instruments in an orchestra that do NOT play the same music or notes at the same time. some aren't in the same key. their parts are written to be different
anyway the irony is when I explain this, I still get jumped on for pushing "my way on eveyrone else" so I can spoof that in the plot since it really happens.
