Just interested to see if their is any kind of trend in this forum. Or are you all a-political?
My guess would be that any sociopath's in here will be fairly right-wing.
According to this test: http://www.politicalcompass.org/test
I am actually a left-wing libertarian...
Okay, first of all Mr. Winstonshapers, by pointing out Americans and laughing, you are certainly not doing the world any good. You are creating resentment, you are implying you disfavor an entire group of Human Beings.
We are not dissimilar. We are all nothing but an observer in this universe. It's the low-functioning individuals who take the physical world, and our physical bodies so seriously that we feel we must self identify with our unique physical qualities, and it's not good for Humanity. Humanity is so much better when we all consider each other brothers and sisters in life. We are one. I am you, and you are me. We are all a part of the same higher consciousness.
The only thing that gives us our individuality is that we experience different circumstances throughout our lives. We need to consider ourselves on a higher level. A level above simply the color of our skin, or our nationality. We need to realize that we as physical beings are the result of our environments, and that had you been in the same shoes as another throughout life, you would find your thoughts very similar to that same person you are implying resentment toward.
Secondly, who said socialism is wrong on principle? I don't think so. Clearly half of America doesn't think so considering Obama Care was passed. So where are you getting your information? The problem with socialism is that it removes individual rights, and we cannot guarantee as a society that the removal of those rights is for the good of the people.
The affordable care act is socialist because it requires by law that everyone purchase a service, and if they don't, provided they aren't exempt for some particular reason outlined in the law, they will be punished.
We KNOW that our health care system is wrong. In a capitalist system, it is about money. It isn't about the best medical care. This needs corrected. Forcing everyone to buy into such an inefficient system will not solve many of the problems of rising healthcare costs.

In what sense is the affordable care act socialist? Why do you believe socialism is wrong on principle?
Americans lol...
hi lp and wp. I relate to lp post. Well said. I still work within the dem party because only they can fix the damage and fraud theyve done. The onlychance they have to listen to anyone is their own members so i had to become one to set up solutions to fix messes from within.
As for ws post i am having this same debate with my bf who blames socialist or marxist ideology instead of abuse of these to impose. I have friends who are marxists but constitutionals first and dont impise their views against that framework of rules. So its the imposition without consent that is wrongful not the socialism itself.
Ex we do have the post office under govt and the libraries, so where we agree to socialize things thru govt there is room for that. Even though the irs and fed reserve are questionable as constitutional ppl generally agree to use these institutions so we permit them by law.
Ws with the aca, this hybrid law compels citizens to buy private insurance or else pay into govt. No other choices for health care are exempted. This is seen as abuse of commerce clause and changing constitutional duties of fed govt without properly amending the constitution. The 10th amendment clearly states that powers not given expressly to fed govt in the constitition are reserved to states and ppl. So states have rights to pass mandates for themselves by vote of ppl not govt going thru congress. Nor can supreme court chsnge or make laws. A strange twist is the supreme court ruled the aca was within govt power as a tax. But tax as a revenue bill must originate in the senate to be constitutional while aca strted in the house as a reform of public health act not as an income tax.
So this bill is not legit without the consent of taxpayers especially those protesting they did not consent and arent represented by the parties who passed this bill. This brought up a key issue that ppl beliefs in constitutionalism are a form of political belief on the same level as religious belief that cannot be excluded or discriminated against by govt. If ppl believe in socislizing medicine through insurance they should fund that separately and not impose on those who believe in free market choices through business or charities or schools to provide health care without govt restrictions or mandates on funding. So that is where i take issue as a constitutionalist. Not only the issue of compelling private insurance which isnt the same as paying for govt health care thru a tax but forcing private commerce on ppl thru govt without their consent to such contract. And also the exclusion of ppl views when govt is supposed to represent all ppl not favor one party belief by majority rule. I have no problem where ppl choose to socialize medicine but not to abuse that or assume they agree to push that more especially with such dissension. That should be clear ppl dont consent to such contract.
