Lol well it's not directed at one person. The post yesterday about arrogance and then thinking about delusions of grandeur made me remember the article. It's pretty common for random people to appear here, make a philosophical post or attempt to, and then become pushy about their beliefs.
I look at cause and effect as coinfluencing each other,
Not always purely linear in time. So if person a is meant to produce artwork b or scientific discovery c or start business venture d,
Then that person will have or develop whatever traits or skills it takes to fulfill that process or purpose. So its not necessarily nature vs nurture or cause vs effect but correlated factors contributing.
So, yes, that guy at the easel next to yours may indeed believe he’s the next Picasso. But the proof will be in the painting.
If the "art", is to be a marketable commodity, then public reaction/reception and sales will very quickly reveal part of its true value , narc or not.
Confidence in ones abilities to produce the "goods", seems to often be taken as a form or narcissism too , usually by people who have little to no talent in that field.
The fact that art forms are subjective to individual perception , further adds to the mire of "Is it art, or just ego".
Does intermixing interpretation and reinterpretation sound in any way as art, to you my darling?
Art is not just a revision of reality, nor is it a mere provision of it.
It is more of a marriage between the destructive and the creative, that resides within each experiencing psyche (I guess it begs a question as to what is a psyche that does not experience, but I will leave the specific answer to the dead).
