Hi everyone,

So perhaps you have seen the thread I created about the monthly statistics. As you can see from that, even though we seem to be growing slowly in terms of traffic, we aren't growing in terms of unique visitors. I believe the reason for this is because we aren't showing up in Google searches.

I believe in terms of bringing in new members to this website, our target audience are people searching for the term "sociopath". For this reason, it's important that the word "sociopath" be used often on this website so that spiders will see this, and relate us to relavant searches.

The problem with putting "sociopath" in things like the URL, or the title, or headers is because several of you worry about co-workers or family looking at your browser, and mis-judge. We understand this, and so we have this conflict which disables are ability to SEO, and grow the community.

My solution for this is to create an option that allows users who are logged in to hide all the sociopath references. We could call it Safe For Work Mode. Users would have to be logged in, and select this option.

So what do you guys think? Will adding this feature be enough so that we can begin including "sociopath" in headers, the title, and the URL?

Hello, Luna. I'm relatively new to this forum, but I figured I may as well give some input.

I like what you're done with it by the way, I saw the old forum awhile back and must say I like this one better, especially with the chat option.

To answer your question, though, I think it is a great idea. Something you can select after logging in, and perhaps keep on all the time, if needed.

Another question, what does SEO mean? lol

Search Engine Optimization -- it basicly means you show up higher on google, yahoo, baidu, and other search engines.

 OHHHH, Okay. Lol.

So your goal is more unique traffic, meaning first time users?

 Smart move Luna. Also

1. Can users sign agreements if they DON'T want their account signup info/answers shared or sold by the Admin? some ppl expressed concern, and some may have clinical paranoia or anxiety, not just paranoid or anxious in the casual sense we use.

2. Is there a way to protect the site from complaints of underaged/minors making contact with adults who may have sexual addictions, predatory or criminal illness?

I thought of asking if a connected site for teenage members can be set up and they come up with their own rules of how to prevent any legal issues from arising that could shut down the site if anyone complains to be mean or vengeful.

 1. What signup info are you talking about? It's true there is an Email field, but it's not even required. All there literally is is a username and password, and the password is encrypted. We can't even see it.

2. We could add a terms of use to registration that would deny us of all liability, and require users be 18+ to use the site. I don't think this will stop everyone who violates the terms from entering the site, but it will certainly remove their legal basis for being here.

Luna, vBulliten may be worth considering.  I'm not sure if you can have signatures on here, (haven't gotten around to editting my profile, haven't really felt the need yet) but if so we could all have "sociopath" as it.  Or part of it, at least.

This would basically have the term "sociopath" once in every single post.  Plus all of the other times people actually mention the term "sociopath".

There are people with 2k post counts.

That's a lot of "sociopaths".
