Afternoon crazy ones

Hi there, i'm a lurker... no one you've met yet, but I felt compelled to share a story with you.

It starts with a man named  Matthew Newhalls owner of the website http://www.warcloud.net/ I found his site after doing some research on sociopaths. Long story short, he thinks sociopaths are bad and should be segregated from the rest of society see this article: http://www.warcloud.net/Psychopaths-ancient-breed.html.

I didn't much care for that sentiment so I wrote him a very non-threatening letter:

Hello Mr. Newhall,

First off, pardon me for sending this email to multiple addresses (I wasn't sure which one was your current one).

I've read some of your articles on warcloud.net and Scribd I found them intriguing. We surprisingly have alot in common by the way. Our interest in psychology, specifically sociopathy and even IT (opensource, linux (Flavor: Backtrack or Arch), networking, etc... bit of a computer geek myself).

But I digress, I must admit I am not very fond of your outlook toward sociopaths, (specifically in http://www.warcloud.net/Psychopaths-ancient-breed.html) for someone so enlightened on the topic, you seem to take a very mainstream and predictable point of view of them. I'm curious how many of them you've known on an intimate level? Where does your fascination with the subject stem from? Most people with a deep interest in psychology have had someone close to them claimed by a mental disorder...

I would argue that society needs these people, certainly they have been there at the fall of all great empires, the romans a great example, but what would rome have been without them? Had they not been conquerors? Had they not had a thirst that stretched out their arms and demanded they take more? What would america be but a land of sheep without our wolves? The predators drive the ecosystem Mr. Newhall. Without them, who would protect you from other predators? Who do you think makes up our police force and our military? Who runs our economy as CEOs of fortune 500 companies .. Ok so maybe the economy isn't a great point right now... but these people do the dirty work, so you don't have to get your hands dirty at night. Young men bleed and die for your country so you can rest safely in your lovely home... Those with the warrior gene... those that can do the job and feel no regret... They are users... why demonize them, why not use them?

A final note:

Such a well manicured home you have. :)

You seem very comfortable put out this private information online but you may want to be more careful about what you leave floating around on the net, specifically when one of your favorite topics involve those that live on the darker side of humanity... then again maybe you want people to find you... What do I know? :) (just some friendly advice from someone in the security field.)

All information was freely available on his website... funny guy...

The guy has a big, red target on his head and you were kind enough to point that out to us (in detail). How generous of you...

He was also kind enough to share his wedding photos and... other photos...

His resume is also quite telling...

So you have enough balls to hunt down his info but not do anything about it. Instead deciding to give it out here in hope that someone else may be more brave than you. Boring.

You make me laugh. I mean that in the best way possible. Perhaps his intention was to point it out, research takes no balls, action takes balls. Then again, I don't know that he was claiming to have balls...

;D

It is possible, though, that you are this man, and for some reason wish for someone to attempt to harm you, I mean, you made it clear that YOU have a background in security, maybe you're phishing for someone to play with.

Ha! I wondered that myself. I say let him play if he wants to play. I'm sure someone will take up the challenge eventually. Would hate to see all that personal info go to waste...

Eh I'd say that gathering up all that info and relaying here after sending it to the person demonstrates a certain amount of something. It's ok if you find me funny in the worst way possible also. I hate revenge posts. Do your own dirty work you know?

Hahaha, I feel you on that one. Or do I?

Sometimes it's easier to get away with it if it's harder to trace where the act originated. He put out info perfect for the anonymous viewer of this site. The person who will use it to get away with something simply because it's not someone they are connected to personally.
