For new people old threads could be interesting. If they are about something general I feel why not include what is already said, why make a new thread and do it all over again? I'm more against necroing threads that have no value anymore. 

 haha, would you prefer perhaps a system where users get to decide if a thread has "value"

 hmm, what if we added a feature where.. threads without a new post for more than 2 weeks get "locked" automaticly. they can still be viewed and stuff, just can't recieve new posts.

 No, it's a terrible idea. Anything that restricts our freedom is stupid. What if I feel like posting on an old thread one day, because of something that was said there, and I can't.

I am completely against it, and against the value rating system. It's not like there's a single topic on a thread anyway, usually some parts are interesting, some not.

And any voting system is kinda pointless as long as sockpuppets can vote on it.

As annoying as it might be, I'd rather not lock any threads. Unless they are like 100 pages long. And people assume you will actually read all the pages. 

I guess i have no choice but to review every single old thread, and keep them alive

Then you start a new thread that links to the old one.
