Enlighten me.
"Describe how you think things might go in that situation"
Uh, there would be a lot of competition and drama. That's why I'd probably run away from the group to create my own life, but before that, I'd seduce one of the male members and then, I'd convince him to come with me. We'd simply leave and have our own little tree house close to the beach...
And well, you know the rest ;)
As people soon would be hungry and thirsty the natural leaders would be those having survival skills. The people with some sort of planning and learning abilities would follow those and learn how to do things. The ones not able to cooperate would be a problem as they would try to leech and steal. It is possible those would have to be killed.
But I would be elsewhere. I would find a part of the island where I could not be found easily. Then I would try my best to survive on my own. I would not want to be killed by some lunatic in my sleep.
I'm new to the site, so this scenario is essentially the same as me being stranded on an island with a load of strangers, the only knowledge of whom I have being that I can at least assume that a large percentage of my island-mates are sociopaths of varying degree.
I can see one of two things happening.
If I immediately identified an individual with the ability and charisma to obtain a leadership position and keep it, I would ally myself with that person. I don't like the spotlight of leadership, especially not in this situation, because taking such leadership is the flip of a coin; you will either become the leader, or be consumed by the crowd. Either way, I'll be able to react to the former situation by being in an advantageous position of having the leader's favor and protection(especially if I am one of their first allies, as my loyalty will be less likely to be questioned). And if the latter situation occurs and this person fails to take control, I can go with my original plan b) go off on my own or with a trusted individual or two, survive as a mobile group and pick away at the assets of the collective if necessary.
Though, in a group of mostly sociopaths who at least do not respond well to authority and reject social norms, I can't see much of a "collective" forming at all.
