If anyone other that myself has any appreciation of the depth of Shakespeare, it will not be lost on him that Hamlet is a contest between the empathic Hamlet and the sociopathic Claudius.
Of course Earnest Jones revealed that Hamlet may have been projecting his own sociopathology onto his stepfather:
'Tis now the very witching time of night, when churchyards yawn and hell itself breathes out contagion to this world. Now could I drink hot blood, and do such bitter business [rape of his mother] as the day would quake to look upon.
In any case, when Hamlet makes this statement of Claudius, he is accusing him of being a sociopath:
Eyes without sight! Sight without feeling!
and also:
So excellent a King [his father] that was to this [his stepfather] hyperion to a satyr.
