Since I have colour vision and never see just a person's eyes when I look at them, I fail to see how this is relevant to daily life unless you live in a Muslim dictatorship where all you can see are the eyes of half the population who are dressed in black.

While the mouth may be saying one thing, the eyes may be saying another. Take fake smiling for example.

A person's eyes can usually give away if the smile is fake or not. The eyes can also determine other things that a facial expression may be trying to convey deceptively.
