Sociopath Advocacy and Thought Crimes

I find it deeply disturbing that Professor Lund is now speaking about the connection between Aspberger Syndrome and sociopathology.  The Asperger advocates are not going to want to be compared to those with criminal proclivities.

Also,  there is an important lesson to be learned from the fate of this man,  who committed no crime,  but was imprisoned for his fantasies:

Oh, for fuck's sake, another post by you bitching about professor Lund.

Seriously, where does it end?

Maybe you should gather the townsfolk with your pitchforks and hunt that god-forsaken, demonic woman down...

Actually,  I would be inclined to set her free.

There is more of a connection than you might think.

Both are developmental delays.

Both are grounded in self-gratification.

Both rely on logic, rather than emotion.

Both have an "interesting" relationship with their anger.

Both tend to be cunning, sneaky and shifty in their own ways.

Both have a problem with their frustration levels.

Both are difficult to deal with.

The biggest difference would be the fact that sociopath obsess about using other people and aspies obsess about using objects to their gratification.

I use both people and objects for that purpose.

Thank you for that.  I have a son with Asperger syndrome and he is very empathic,  very loving and caring about people,  and about morality,  but that may make him a bit unusual on the specturm.  Thanks for your illuminating post.

Allow me to explain a bit further using my own example.

When I deal with people and want something from them, I'll be very understanding, charming, appear as though I'm what they would expect of themselves in another person.

But it's only a manipulation on my part and what really matters to me is what I want from that person, not what they want from me.

When I deal with objects (physical objects, abstract objects, ideas...), I delve into their nature and expect a result from that understanding.

This is a manipulation as well, as it's important for me to play with the nature of things.

That doesn't mean that I'm bereft of any sympathy or compassion. These are simply weaker and delayed as opposed to most NT's or empaths. And I have too easy of a time switching them off.

I understand.  Thank you for your honesty.  I would imagine sales people and other business types are operating in the same manner.

I thought you read her book. She talks about aspies in there.

"The beautiful Aspie. There was the midwestern boy whom I loved, I thought. It’s hard to remember now what that love felt like."

Yeah, I did.  Not what I'm saying.  I didn't know she would try and pull Aspies under the sociopath label as part of her advocacy.

Aspies fit very well under the ASPD label.

Don't worry yourself too much though.

It's all about maintaining one's humanity and the people who help in that nurture.

I'm certain you can discern at what is best for your baby.
