That is indeed interesting, and certainly puts a quantum spin on Schopenhauer. I know Anthony Peake has interviewed Campbell several times on his radio show.
Free will is just a manifestation of the ego's need to feel like we have an affect on this world, that what we want is important, that we are the center of something. When it comes down to it, if given the same choices through the exact same situations with all the outside variables unchanged (including prior knowledge), we'd do the same thing.
My views allign pretty closely with Determinism.
