 I felt it Luna, it went on for almost  20 minutes... it's all smooth now, apparently

 uuuhhhh, I knew that "blackbox" refered to Linux

 we would have caught it sooner, but we are working on the search feature and so i thought perhaps a loop got away from us or something and was lagging the database lol

 he's spamming failed login attempts over and over. i think's thats what may have slowed the server down. we're going to throttle login attempts so that you only get 5 attempts before a 15 minute timeout. 15 failures total in 1 hour and we'll time him out for 2 hours or something.

more than 3 attempts and you're being generous... not even a lazy stoner needs more than 5 :P

edit: it didn't only slow down the server, I got some 505s here

 blackbox is trying to hack us but he keeps failing, but he keeps slamming his head at our server so it was slowing us down for a bit. i think he stopped now though. so now we're adding a login throttle feature to stop this trickery.
