What sort of behavior?

 What's honest?  That it is terrible?  Only that it SOUNDS terrible?  Or that their ignorance is something mistaken for honesty?

Their ignorance has them manipulate without the intent of manipulation. They can even manipulate things they don't want to happen, because they don't understand what they're doing. When they interact, it's honest, as their manipulations aren't inherently goal oriented (or if they are it's obvious).

When you recognize the whole manipulation game? It's hard to not notice those things anymore, and it becomes increasingly difficult to not notice your own behaviors, habits, tendancies. Once you notice your own? You can change them, and behave in ways that are purely with an objective as opposed to just being. When who you are is no longer you, but the things that need to be to get what you want, it's dishonest.

So how did you deal with that, or get around that?

 Of course, the minor paradox possible:  What about if being dishonest is who you are?

That really sucks.

How long do you see yourself stuck dealing with this?

 Hmm is this more about "being true to oneself?"

Then you probably would recognize the game of manipulation before others, and refine it more than they would.

If that wasn't the case, they'd be transparent.
