I saw it mentioned in another thread that you have a daughter. Can you describe to me what you feel for her? I don't have any children but I've heard others say they had never known love (or what they perceive as love) before their kids so I'm curious what you see the feeling as.
I don't feel love for her, but I care about her the same way I care about everything else I own. Obviously she's a part of me, since she's carrying my genes, so what happens to her does matter to me to some degree.
With that said though, I've imagined different ways of her dying to see how it would make me feel to lose her and I never feel anything. Maybe that is something you can't really know until you're in that situation.
by anastaciaSerious questions I've been holding onto for a while:
What emotion do you find the hardest to comprehend or understand?
Which emotion annoys you the most in others?
Are there any that you are thankful for not experiencing? (All of them is not a valid response)
As per the 1st qustion:
Love.
As per the 2nd question:
Surrender.
As per the 3rd question:
Fear when based upon ignorance, fear when based upon despair and finally fear when based upon desire.
Hardest to understand: cowardice, depression, and self-pity
Most annoying in others: cowardice, depressive apathy, self-pity, extended bouts of sadness and crying- mostly because I'm not very good at dealing with such emotions in others, and find them tedious.
Thankful I don't experience: cowardice, depression, shame, and regret.
It is interesting to me that the feelings I find hardest to understand are those which annoy me the most in others.
EDIT: I updated this post because I think the term "cowardice" is more succinct and accurate than "debilitating fear and/or anxiety"
by MedullaIt is interesting that they tend to like drugs, but pretend to shun emotions.
They are never interested in sharing what's going on with them, though when they are anonymous and it's educational, then they will talk about it. They can feel joy, usually at someone elses expense, which is probably yet another cog in what may influence their behaviour.
I don't remember if I ever heard the sociopath themselves say emotions are weak. We usually hear some kind of boaster who praises sociopathy say things like that. The emotions the sociopath feel all relate to a furious state. The failure of others, or personal gain seems to be the only things that ever make them laugh.
