by Spatial MindVery good work. I really like how it ended, as if sleep is what prevents the demon inside from taking over, while the soul takes a break in the heavens where these demons cannot enter. And speaking of fiction, Silky woman, you look like a cute anime character, I want to squeeze you.
Did you know that even sound sleepers wake up periodically throughout the night, without knowing it, so the body and brain can scan the environment to see if it's still safe to be sleeping? Can you sleep facing away from a door and feel safe?
I knew sometimes we seem to wake up briefly before passing out again, but I wasn't aware of it being a safety check. I needn't be facing the door when I sleep. To be honest, I don't know how to sleep, sometimes I'd just lay there until it's time to go, or I'll just wake up out of the blue. I always feel safe in my home. At the end of the month I'll be moving out on my own. I'm confident i'll be able to sleep with my back to the door.
