When you see a person whose motives you dont comprehend, do you try to?

Have you ever been in a situation like that, where you have not understood someones motives and you tried to figure it out?

Or have you ever been the one being questioned? Have you felt that by being honest you might disappoint whoever is interested? Did you do something on purpose to get the person interested? Was your sense of self-importance involved?

When I try to figure out someone's motives, I've made the mistake to think there is some sanity to it. Therefore, people's motives have seemed clouded to me.

Learned that people do things out of motives that totally don't make sense to me. They do things that will come bite them in the ass, not once, but several times. They burn bridges that don't need to be burned. They lie not to get out of trouble but gettin into it.

I still have a hard time understanding why people make deliberate choices that are bad for them. Now I'm not talking about cravings like smoking or eating too much chocolate. I'm talking about things that from my point of view they perform knowing their other options and understanding them.

Sometimes people just do things because they are idiots. It still puzzles me some.

If someone already questions your motives then they are unlikely to believe your explanation of them.

People are easy to figure out.  For exanple:

You are frendly

Luna is nice

 Alter is sexy

Jay is muscular

Lycan is crazy

See?  Easy!

I still think the ultimate mystery is Death. Some people think they have it down, but I'm not so sure....

Thy soul shall find itself alone
'Mid dark thoughts of the grey tomb-stone;
Not one, of all the crowd, to pry
 Into thine hour of secrecy.

Be silent in that solitude,
Which is not loneliness- for then
The spirits of the dead, who stood
In life before thee, are again
In death around thee, and their will
Shall overshadow thee; be still.

The night, though clear, shall frown,
And the stars shall not look down
From their high thrones in the Heaven
With light like hope to mortals given,
But their red orbs, without beam,
To thy weariness shall seem
As a burning and a fever
Which would cling to thee for ever.

Now are thoughts thou shalt not banish,
Now are visions ne'er to vanish;
From thy spirit shall they pass
No more, like dew-drop from the grass.

The breeze, the breath of God, is still,
And the mist upon the hill
Shadowy, shadowy, yet unbroken,
Is a symbol and a token.
How it hangs upon the trees,
A mystery of mysteries!

I'm always trying to figure out motive, everyday. Most people's motives are very clearly displayed. On occasion I run across someone who isn't so easy to figure out, then I'm forced to actually pay attention.

In real life? I can become a bit obsessive when trying to figure people out, from it being a hobby of mine as well as for my own peace of mind. I am highly uncomfortable around people who I can't predict in advance, but they're also strangely more interesting like that. Takes a bit for me to grow comfortable with people, even though I tend to visibly appear the same regardless of where I am in this process.

Me being questioned? People with abberant traits tend to try to figure me out while I simultaniously try to figure them out. People who are a bit more "normal" tend to stop hanging around me in favor of finding someone a bit more average (on occation this isn't the case).

On the net? I tend to take a more passive approach, watching how others interact with eachother instead, occationally piping in to see what happens. As for being asked questions, it's much easier when there's not a voice behind the words, and visible expressions judging how I answer the questions themselves.

Time reveals everyting that is obscured by design.

Patience is the best ally you can have in that.
