Hey,

So as of late I've been receiving phone calls from an unknown number that doesn't reply when I answer. At first I thought it was just some problem with connection but now's the fifth time I received that same call. I decided to leave the line open because in The line has been open for the past 2 hours now or so.

I've been trying to think of ways to figure out how to get the identity of the caller. Any ideas? One sure way to find it is by making a report to the police but I don't want to do that.

Thanks for the advice! I didn't realize it before you said it but I could do that too. It seems so much simpler now, I don't know why it didn't occur to me. Thank you.

e: I realize some people might think that's sarcasm, it's not. I honestly didn't think of it.

It's probably an autodialler. Sometimes you get a pre recorded message, sometimes a real person is meant to actually talk to you (sell you stuff or scam you), after the actual dialling. It's used a lot in telemarketing. Sometimes they are programmed to keep calling you until you pick up.

Sometimes the message fails, sometimes the person calling is not paying attention, many reasons why no one is there. I got several calls which only had a pre recorded ending.

I pick up and the robotic voice says "Goodbye". It feels a bit ominous. ;)

i never answer my phone nor do I have a voice message on either of my phones. 

 

I only answer from people i know.
