Are you a business owner HelloTech?
My company's main form of income is from development work itself, but our goal is to eventually have most of our revenue come from monthly payments from clients who wish us to manage their website.
The idea is that the client tells me the goals they have for their website. Then my company hosts, updates, and basicly manages the website on behalf of that company, and uses our expertise to ensure the website's success.
So what I'm saying is basicly, for $90 a month, the client's website will be taken care of and managed by professionals on the client's behalf, and each month, we will go to clients with data saying how much the website has grown, and how we think it can grow more, here is what we plan to do.
So yeah, our goal is to basicly become a sort of subscription based subcontracting of all web-marketing and user accounts services for companies big enough to need a good website and professionals to manage it, but small enough as to not want to hire their own team full time. they can subcontract to us!!
And for the future, once my company has grown, I would like to move toward software development for new technologies such as the google glass, and also we would like to work on developing new interface technologies with computers. Another thing I'd like to do is get into the business of working together with home construction and remodeling companies, and writing an opperating system literally for the home. It will provide the home with a little control panel, and from it they can control every socket in the entire house, see how much per minute/hour/week etc electricty cost is for each divice, controling thermostat, humidity, etc etc. I have big dreams for my company :D
What stands your company apart from the other webdevs on the internet? Any particular types of websites you focus on? For example an online web presence for a business may not be as concerned with growing as a social network? What are your prices? Do you have packages setup?
Maybe we should take this conversation offline somewhere?
