Hi everyone,
So I really love America. I think we have the best organized social system in the world when it comes to taking a human being, and giving them the tools they need to live a easy life. It really gives those who want to shine almost no excuse not to achieve their dreams. Anyway, the very very slight problem with this system is that evolution stops. None of the stupid people are dieing. In fact, quite the opposite is happening, We find that the stupid people are unable to fight their basic animal desires, and as a result, reproduce exponentially faster than their smarter, more motivated counterparts.
I think what we will eventually find is that no matter how socialist we make our society, and no matter how many safety nets we add, it's always going to weigh us down more and more as the go-getters lift up the lazy and contents of the world.
Anyway, so I have these friends who live in an apartment. The apartment is literally a rectangle cube. On the bottom floor is the kitchen and living room, and so no matter if you go in the front or back door, OR if you are in the kitchen, the TV is like center stage for everything. And on that TV you see broadcasting companies and commercials family guy. And then all around you, you see cats. And the cats literally have their own little lives going on and as you sit there distracted by the TV, the cats distract you more. The lives they live. The place they stay, it's like a page out of the illiad when odesseous finds the island of poppy seeds or w.e and he was like stuck their in a trance. That's what it's like. They pack bowls so big it's like wow, they must have iron lungs, and seriously, they waste SO much weed.
But whats more, in conclusion to all this, you have consumer purchases everywhere. You have cars, you have tvs, food, clothing, like it's so spooky to walk into this little world, and inside it, is them, their social lives, their cats, their friends, and the tube, and they dont look beyond that in any way. In fact, looking beyond it is almost stigmatized as "deep thinking", and they begin to think it's almost nerdish. It's sad really.
I do realize these thoughts seem a little almost resentful to the American system, but I will point out that the American system are the largest contributors in the world by far in terms of research and development. So if we consider that humanity as a race has a goal to exist in this universe for as long as possible, than we certainly need research and development to better understand what we're dealing with :P
Long Live Luna!
