i mean he backed down in how angry he was. he was swearing and carrying on, and then when i questioned (to put it nicely) why he would try to open the door when i hadn't told him he could come in, he responded with something like 'my bad, just keep it down'. 

this was at bout 12-1am, and at 3am he was in his room taking ket with a friend going mental. haha

You said the "director" didn't get a "guarantor" for you.  And you used an "estate agent".  In the US we say "landlord" and "co-signer" and "Craigslist".

 

I'm gonna guess you're in Australia.

actually, the guy i'm talking about is the director. that is different from the landlords, which i also had but never communicated with. craigslist is an estate agent?
