Switzerland is okay until you realize you can't have a cip of coffee and a croissant for under $30.
Austria's better. It has all the same cool stuff Switzerland has, plus the Catholic guilt thing going on. And you don't get royally screwed every time you buy a bottle of water.
Yeah, the worst tend to be middle-aged guys who want to prove they're still cool, so they come tearing down the mountain completely out of control.
And then there are the drinkers. The worst-case scenario is obviously the drunk out-of- shape middle-aged guy with complexes.
Agree about the spending money, but when you have a couple of little hamsters to support you need to keep some reserves in your cheek pouches.
I agree. In my case the fucking idiot was young and not drunk. He lost control because he wasn't experienced enough and should have stayed on less dangerous ski routes.
My coach back then had forbidden me to go skiing, because I had some important stuff coming soon that required my body to be at full capacity. I said fuck you I'm going skiing, then got smashed into a tree and put out of work for months. I was so fucking pissed at that idiot, and so many other people were fucking pissed at me... :D

I liked switzerland and austria both, though I had a bad experiance being poor in switzerland. I ended up spending the night in the train station because I couldn't afford a place to sleep. The train station in Zurich has guards whos only job seems to be walking around and poking anybody whos sleeping, then they close the train station at 1 am and kick you out. You can't come back in till 4 am. During that time I spent the time shivering in a park with some pretty sketchy people.
