Predator persistence?

Somewhat along the lines of what the guy who wants to put a black baby in everyones's stomach has been asking, for those of your who are the predators of the species, as long as you are in contact with your prey do you ever give up trying to get your goal? Can you actually appreciate a "friendship"? Or are you pretty much consumed with your original goal - sex, money, etc? Sometimes can the relationship actually be the goal? Or is that foolish to even think?

I can say I genuinely like my friends. They provide amusement for me, however I don't know whether or not I "appreciate" a friendship because I'm not sure what that means.

Relationships are a means to an end.

Sometimes a friendship can be amusing, but in the long run it usually becomes boring and stops being useful...

All interaction comes from some want... an exchange...

I think genuinely liking your friends would be along the lines of appreciating them, even if only for amusement.  Means you value the friendship for some reason or another.
