 Yeah I think so. The thing is all of detroit was based off of the American auto industry. Then Japanese, Korean and German cars came in, and they were better, cheaper or cooler. In the hey-day of the American auto industry people flocked to detroit. However with the American auto industry being in decline for so long, most respectable member of the cities left for greener pastures. Leaving behind poor people who could not afford to move.

 Agreed. We don't live in an industrial economy anymore. We live in a knowledge based economy which is post-industrial.
