Its when your astral/dream body detaches from your physical body, usually during sleep paralysis and you can fly around your room or neighborhood and when you get better at it different locations and even different "realms"
I've never astral projected to a different realm so i dont know what thats like yet but there are tons of personal experiences online like millions and millions of them, in forums and articles and youtube videos its a pretty common phenomenon

That's......a pretty extreme difference and I got the idea from someone else tbh, apparently its a really common thing to do in the lucid dreaming and astral projection communities lol. Why not live out any fantasies you want when you have the ability to self create a more realistic version of VR in your own brain that any technology can ever achieve?
