Over the past few years, I have came to a very important realization. I am a maximalist who could not be a minimalist if I tried, because my whole existence has been dominated by maximalism so much. By maximalism, I mean the mantra of "more is more". Be it personality, the arts, philosophy, some of my politics, ect- I seem to have a penchant for the over-the-top. I will go through some categories to demonstrate just why this is.
Personality
I have been accused of being a narcissist, "too much", loud, "no chill", an amphetamine addict, crazy, and more.... and yet, I don't care. All but drug addicts can be something I can take as a compliment. I do not WANT to be chill, it is why I still have not done pot despite having PLENTY of chances. When I dont like something or am uncomfortable, I dont let up until the situation is in my favor. Sitting still is out of the question, and god forbid somebody slow me down when I am in a hurry, which is often. When business must be done and it is crunch time I get on the shit in a hurry. I speak in a rapid fired pace even when off of Amphetamine, a lot of others cant get in a word edgewise around me but I am very entertaining when my soapbox isnt contested. I have a personality characterized by excess (and SUCCESS)
Art
When I engage in any kind of art, or purchase art such as styles in clothing, I go for bold and bright. If it will make somebody make a good comment or look, then I like it but I actually hate neutral tones, black, and white because to me they are very boring and lack personality.
Music
As many know, I like hair metal, 80s music, and some hip hop like Kanye- all genres known for their high energy and promotion of excess in both the sound and message. I like it because it is energizing and positive.
SC Posts
You all should know about this one, it's pretty obvious how this aspect is one I am maximalist in.
Philosophy and Politics
My philosophy is similar to rational egoism but I extend it to pursuing the interests of people who are close to me like delora. However for most people, I do not care about their interests. I support the accumulation of wealth and full on capitalism in all of its excessive glory.
All of these categories and my associated behavior around them seems to suggest I am a maximalist. I just learned the term and realized that I fit it perfectly.
