I found this really helpful because it explains the clear difference between bipolar and BPD as well as just clarifying a lot of things about BPD in general that most people have misperceptions about

oh ok I thought you were trying to invalidate my diagnoses out of being ignorant or intentionally annoying or something

and yes quiet borderline does relate more

Ive been feeling the need to let myself be more autistic lately without letting my ego freak out on me as a form of self-love which is why I've been distancing myself from the forum, because I observed how delora and BR were treated (and I participated in it lol) soo yeah

kind of switching from wanting to have as much of a mask over my autism as possible to not really caring if people know im different now. Im introverted so I don't care that much about fitting in socially anyway

I would also look into attachment disorders and other personality disorders than BPD like avoidant personality

but also, people diagnosed with bipolar, it’s been studied they on average struggle in areas like empathy. It’s purely neurological not developmental, to do with the physiological structure of the brain.

So that can sort of show up like an attachment disorder or a personality disorder but in reality it’s just the bipolar.

I guess that’s why for a diagnosis you have to have like multiple criteria met to qualify.

like my ex who was bipolar totally acted like a sociopath and I couldn’t tell what the fuck was wrong with her, she had zero empathy for other people. Obviously there are varying degrees but. Yeah when I learned the empathy issue associated with bipolar it totally made complete sense to me.

Another ex told me she had PTSD and sociopathic tendencies because of it. Like she was diagnosed with it that way. So, there’s a lot of ways things can be sliced.

there are even some auto immune disorders and such that can seem to cause mental illness of a pretty high severity and then when they are treated, it goes away. This is obviously more rare but.

if you’re curious about that there is a movie called Girl on Fire which explains it very well. Very interesting to me.

as far as attachment disorders go it’s hard to catch but, I think my dad has something called Reactive Attachment Disorder. Very interesting reading about those. It explains the odd behaviors of so many people I could never understand lol

ya I have Avoidant too but that is also undiagnosed, its why I've always thought of myself as cat-like because I enjoy being around people in like very short bursts but then would rather ignore them soon after and do my own thing and focus on other stuff besides interacting with the people I like lol

for a few hours, then might feel social again in another short burst then back to being avoidant
