I feel similarly towards the people who insist that they are detached and above feelings.

You focus on morons who rely on virtue signaling notions of altruism and compassion and with that you disavow the entire concept of kindness as if it were some kind of weakness. However it is you who is weak for putting up defense mechanisms and succumbing to cruelty as if it were a strength. This is an example of that

I feel like this is more of an ideal than something you regularly practice. 

these people really want to have a deep connection with someone else. also, they might like someone that is on the edge of normal, willing to accept a few abnormal behaviors. maybe they are more succeptable to advances from a narcopath.

 I dont think you absorbed my point in this post or maybe I relayed it incorrectly, I am not saying kindness and compassion are weaknesses, I am saying that victims attributing their trustingness and manipulableness?? (forgive me for genociding english language) to some higher virtues like being empathetic and kind is what is laughable and thinking they are better people for not getting revenge for ex.

I see it as an extreme form of moral narcissism where self destructive levels of trying to "good", otherwise I appreciate empathy and innocence as traits (how am i supposed to make money if these didnt exist)
