You won't find closure until you rip that bandage. I struggle with both change and closure too, but not for years like this.
It has to hurt, you have to let it hurt, or you will just keep running in the same circles as you self-indulge in mental self-harm and desperate acts to try to get him back.
At this point I'd argue you're hurting yourself, more so than anything around you otherwise is, as your way of avoiding a pain you believe on some level to be worse than what you're otherwise perpetuating.
If you can't allow yourself to go through the pain, there can't be any growth and you'll remain trapped like this. If you really want closure instead of just "what you want out of life", then... yeah, it sucks, I'm sorry but it kinda has to to stop sucking later like paying emotional rent.

Does anybody else here have trouble understanding what Turncoat is saying there? I understood about 50% which is to say up until about get him back, then in last two “paragraphs” it lurches into meaningless fluff 😂
