What is your political alignment

I think I'm centre-right which in European politics means socially Liberal and fiscally Conservative, so that means a bit more free market, less social regulations but I also am environmentally minded so yeah

eco fascism is interesting concept, I'd like to see a right wing environmentalist party

So I'm a smoll commie now lul.

I simply believe in moderation. Having a completely free market would be bad for the people, having too much state interference is bad for progress. Call me an idealist, but I want a moderate state that protects the interests of its people in such a way that the more successful companies get, the more successful the entire country gets. The state is a parasite that must be fed just enough to not kill its host.

A shadow not so dark.

I think this is a really interesting concept.

I've been thinking about environmentalism a lot as of late. I believe there's potential in environmental politics that the right or far-right could tap into because as it stands the political left deeply misunderstands climatology. As a result their logic pertaining to the climate issues is off and this not only affords the right the opportunity to become the party of logical climate politics but also allows them to become the hero's of the story because leftist politics actually cripples the solution space.

I agree and it frustrates me how many right wing parties still adhere to climate scepticism (or realism as some call it). It's a major deterrent in gaining more support. Even if they are sceptical, which in itself is dumb, they could just capitalise on environmentalism.

I have been reading up on a few ecopolitical people but I've mostly found libertarian/anarchistic people calling for harmony between technology and nature. If a sensible right collective could present a decent climate plan, while keeping its stance on immigration, civic nationalism and laissez-faire economics they would garner a shitload of support from young people who are 1. shown to be more conservative than their millennial and boomer predecessors, and 2. much more environmentally minded

yeah, right wing environmentalism would seem to be a logical progression given the political climate and the values of much of the youth in the west. In australia we have Labor actually representing that combination to some degree, they are not extremely right wing, but still more right than left. And they are the only major party committed to real action on climate change in aus.... and yet they fucking lost the federal election last week. I'm still butthurt about it.

According to the political compass these are the alignments of main parties that were in the running:

"This Australian election marks an all-time high in public contempt for party politicians. Perpetual in-fighting within the ruling Liberal-National coalition, and the decidedly uncharismatic prime ministership of Christian fundamentalist Scott Morrison, has kept Labor in a steady lead in most polls — despite the failure of its leader, Bill Shorten, to ignite the public. His refusal to approve or rule out the controversial Adani coalmine project reflects a desire not to frighten the horses. While some of his economic proposals are more bold they, too, are a mix of the neoliberal directions that the party has been on since the mid-80s, with some concessions to traditional Labor sentiments. It is a reflection of the all-round confusion of political identity that Shorten’s adversary for party leadership, Anthony Albanese, is touted as coming from the left of the party, though he attacks Shorten for being anti-business.

The Greens, too, pose us with difficulties because of a considerable difference between the pragmatic willing-to-do-deals leader Richard Di Natale and the mainstream membership that insist on a more radical direction in the tradition of their much-loved earlier leader, Bob Brown. The Greens have also been hurt by warring between the national organisation and the state organisations that have demanded more control. Nevertheless the Greens, both socially and economically, remain to the left of Labor.

One Nation’s Pauline Hanson, unlike the leaders of many of Europe’s new authoritarian nationalist parties, continues to wrap hardline social policies and neoliberalism together as naturally as fish and chips.

This time ’round there’s an unprecedented number of independent candidates, many of them carefully positioned to do maximum damage to Labor and, more especially, Liberal heavyweight incumbents in vulnerable seats. This has turned out to be the most interesting aspect of an otherwise lacklustre election."

...still butthurt

no doubt this will hurt the parties in the future. a center right is much better approach. the risk of doing nothing is too high
