Interesting they shaped the mermaid's genitals to a shark labia. Sharks are one of the few fish species that give live birth instead of laying eggs. I always assumed mermaids had more traditional fish reproductive systems (like in the futurama scene below) but I don't think mermaid lore actually specifies how they procreate. Although even if it was mermaid cannon to laid eggs, a sexually frustrated hallucination is less likely to acknowledge this.
