You could imagine that in life, man is a builder of his own tower. His tower being the ego, his own goals and ambitions, his interests, his achievements, and his legacy. If man wishes for his tower to be the tallest and the greatest, then he has two options. The first more simple option, is to destroy the towers of all of those around him and consequently have the tallest tower in comparison to those he laid waste to. The second more fulfilling and complex option, is to focus solely on the improvement and building of his own tower.
This can become difficult in a world full of people who prefer the former, but over time the builder will find that there are materials in this world that are too strong to give way to those who only seek to demolish and over time, his tower will stand tall, great, and indestructible; having withstood the attacks of other and improved over the years. And his tower will be the greatest tower of all.
The difference in the approaches, is that when you only destroy, you learn nothing of the art of building your own tower. You fail to grow. Your materials stay the same and decay with the ages. There is no self improvement. It's instant gratification at a heavy price for both others and yourself. If we would all just embrace that second more difficult option, the world would be a better place- the ability to learn and adapt and improve until you aren't just great by proxy of destructive whims, but great off of your own deserved effort.
